Title: "Man in Cart with Goat"

This painting has a folk art feel to it as it illustrates the exasperation of a farmer needing his domesticated goat to help him harvest within the growing cycle of nature. The goat is responding to his wilder, more natural side to find a mate. Just at the time the man is most dependent on the goat, the goat is in less compliance with the man. Yet the man and the goat are both responding to the same seasonal rhythms of nature. Life has its level of irony and the irony is often the core of true metaphysical exasperation where you end up just throwing your hands in the air.
