Artist: Stefan Crane

Title: "Kneeling Woman"

These words by the artist go to the essence of this painting: "Color can be seen as grace or karma or potential for nirvana. It can be seen as religious or spiritual, but really it is a pantheistic belief that we are born into a world that is perfectly embracing us. The more we become excited about the world, the stronger we get mentally and physically." I don't know if it's because of my own personal bad eyesight or a psychological bent, but I have always been less aware of the outside lines of things than others. Objects don't seem to be created by their perimeters, but they seem to be evoked from t0heir colors. I'm often amazed at how perfect the colors of things are even though the individual shapes might be flawed. When you are trying to portray something as complex as a relationship, it becomes harder and harder to convey to the viewer the emotion you are trying to portray, which leads many artists to more and more abstraction."
