The Kudra Etagere |
One of a Kind |
This exquisite etagere is like nothing else. The large negative spaces allow the energy to flow freely around and through it... sensuous curving shape and soft spotlight on those special displayed pieces where the concentrated energy rests. This piece was inspired by a Thomas Mann novel that discussed when a object such as a letter opener was so beautiful that it ceased to be the object it was intended to be and became pure art. As with all of Mr. Crane's work, special attention was given to the concept of viewing it from all sides and angles as you would any piece of sculpture. The Kudra can change dramatically from day to night with the lights on the geometric shadow cast around the displayed piece. It shows glass sculptures, as well as freshly cut roses in a beautiful vase, both brilliantly.
